why not replace it with an aftermarket radio?

Good adivice.
Ditch the stock radio, and get one from Crutchfield.com that'll be 10x better anyway.
It's amazing how far audio tech for cars has come since the days of AMS + CrO2 tape decks using paper cones.

ya buying an aftermarket radio for a 92mgm should be easy, since the opening for the stock is the same as the aftermarket,, on mine i just had to connect a wiring hardness to the new stereo,, take out the factory with the DIN tools,, then connect the harness and it slid in , and cliped into place, no screwing no unbolting...... easy as can be//

id reccommend checking on crutchfield.com first to make sure you dont need any installation kits,, then... goto www.onlinecarstereo.com to buy a radio, ,theyre much cheaper with free ground shipping,,
i bought my pioneer deh -6500 mp3 deck for real cheap there..
