Does anyone know who makes HID XENON Lights for The 99+ Fog Lights on the G20t?

dont know of anyone who makes h3 HID kits yet... then again i havent been keeping close track... HID kits for your headlights will run you from $600-1100 depending on the brand and how much you get ripped off lol... if they make a kit for our fogs it'll run you the same price

wickedG20

Woah.

Im just talking about HID XENON Bulbs for the fog lights.

:frog:

b-b00gie
05-16-2001, 11:41 PM
ok.... you were referring to regular bulbs that say they "look like" HID/Xenon.... there's tons of those... PIAA and Razo are the best in my opinion.. should run you $70 to $100 for a set

now.... HID 101...

HID/Xenon... the REAL DEAL is a bulb with GAS in it (Xenon gas) which is sparked/ignited to produce a high intensity discharge (HID) light.. these systems are VERY expensive and go for typically $600-1000 or more for a set of two with all the needed hardware....

check out this page...

http://www.genxco.com/hid.htm

the ones they sell start at $950 for a set... take a look

I paid $20 for my HID Headlights so it couldnt be those

b-b00gie
05-17-2001, 06:53 AM
lol..

lemme guess, it said HID really big on it, but on top or next to the letters HID it had some Japanese characters on it which you couldnt read... they translate to "looks like"

put the two together and it reads... "looks like we can sell these to silly Americans and have them think they are" HID.

please look at the link i posted, there's pictures of HID lighting kits... you'll see the differences.

trust me for $20 you didnt get anything even close to HID

yeh, what you paid is just bluish looking bulbs and 20bucks doesnt get you Piaas, so look for them to either go out in a few months or (if u got some really bright ones) they'll eat out your harness soon....because your harness can only handle 60/55 wattage bulbs..but most aftermarket bulbs uses 80watt or more and most of the time, your connector will melt and u would need to get a new ones. why do i know all these? cuz it happened to me! hehe...one advise, spend a little more to get the Piaa bulbs, they are all 60/55 but a lot brighter than most bulbs and it'll last you a long time

Nismoboy1
05-17-2001, 02:35 PM
yep...you get what you pay for, plus aftermarket replacement bulbs like that aren't as bright as your stock bulbs either, cause your actually using a bulb thats tinted blue to get that whitish color. Just think of it as window tint on your car, it doesn't let light in as good as a clear window would. "Real" Xenon Hid bulbs are clear and have their own generator-dealy-bobber to power it. plus the cheapest I've seen these at is somewhere around 6 bills. But I like my aftermarket bulbs, I have some Hyper Industries Super Whites, I've had them since Nov. 2000, with no problems...yet...I'm just waiting for these to blow though haha cause I know they will. But after these bulbs blow, I'm gonna try that new Catz Zeta kit. Kinda close to HID but not really. But a lot brighter than stock...it has it's own generator-dealy-bobber and a matching H4 bulb...

check it out...

www.fet-usa.com/shownews1.asp?newsid=28

i think i can get for around $250 or so...:flash:

b-b00gie
05-17-2001, 02:53 PM
hehe... the "generator-dealy-bobbers" are called ballasts :)

those Catz lights are really bright... they have a display at my local shop...

hey, they look good! And work good too!

b-b00gie
05-17-2001, 06:50 PM
hehe.. those bulbs are such a scam...

and they're too strong... 80W? ...within a month or two your bulb harnesses will start melting...

wickedG20
05-17-2001, 07:50 PM
Ive had them for about 4 months already and Have had no problem at all. They always work right

b-b00gie
05-17-2001, 08:05 PM
well if they're 80W you'll have problems eventually... you should check your wiring harness (connector to bulb) make sure its not starting to melt.. cause theres no way for you to tell until the day that it melts so far that the wires touch and short out :(

G22DET
05-18-2001, 02:41 AM
b00gie, seems to me you had that problem too? hehe...i know my melted beyond recognition...a 3rd degree burn for my harness...poor thing....:D

b-b00gie
05-18-2001, 06:17 AM
no.. i've had the 55W piaas in....

but i know people who this happens to almost weekly.... they just dont listen. heheh... oh well...

ballast...that's the word I was looking for, couldn't think of it at the time :D

but yeah, i've heard nothing but good stuff about those Catz-Zeta's, probably the closest thing to HID available but it still doesn't compare at all to HID, totally different system...

also, i've had my Hyper Industries for almost 6 month's now, mine are pretty high wattage also, no problems as of yet...(crossingmyfingers) :silly2:

I guess its just luck, and how good your circritry is, to determine how long you wiring harness will last:rolleyes:

I went with the Nokya halogens, 60/55W, light blue tint. I've had them for almost a year and 1/2 with no problems. They look good - fooled a lot of people into thinking they were HID. Paid about $35 i believe check out www.nextcollection.com.

I like cool-looking lights, I guess because they are one of the most prominent features of a car. To bad xenon is so expensive.

05-23-2001, 11:56 AM
i bought a pair of hyper white lights off ebay and just put them in. Yeah, i heard that they can burn up the wiring, but put them in anyways....the ones i got are i think 90w.

who makes the brightest lights for a decent price?

I am sorry this such an old ass thread and I just found it. There is an aftermarket HID system that a friend of min just bought and installed on his Integra, H4 based. It looks identical to the real H4 compared side by side to a Mercedes of another of our friends. I can get them for about $350 and change as I am ordering one for myself. I have been using the 80/100 watt bulbs with modified harnesses (rally harnesses) for over a year now, they are bluish but haven't melted and are much better than stock. The HIDs though I ordered are the bomb though, I have seen them up close and personal.

I got the new Piaa Xtremes in my headlights, driving lights, and fog lights. We got a QX4 with HIDs to see if they were the same because the Piaa's advertise the best HID look you can find with thier bulbs (keep in mind this was during dusk). They looked almost exactly the same. I really couldnt tell the difference between the two. The only strange thing about the Piaa's is that the driving lights have a blue tint while the headlights and fogs have a HID white look. But they cost hella money! Cost me $220 for the 3 types of bulbs and to have them installed at my local Infiniti (I didnt want to hurt my car or my $190 bulbs so it was worth the $30 bucks to have them lift my car and mess with my car lights). Hope that helps.

i also have the Piaa xterme bulbs on my car with ion fog bulbs...looks pretty cool and very HID like but no where as bright as the HIDs though...then again, only HID is bright as HID..hehe..

wow, $220 for the set is VERY expensive...u got ripped, turned over and ripped again...
i dont want to be like an annoying salesman, but seriously, i can REALLY REALLY hook you guys up with all kinds of stuff...like your set..i can get it for you, shipped for $150-160...anyway, bulb should be looking good though :)

Looks like I could have saved $40 bucks going with you but that extra $30 was for the damn install at Infiniti. Im afraid you are gonna have to be the person to fuel my car part needs. I will contact you for some parts in about another month I think. When I have some money to spend on my car. Lolz

Hey, Luke has always gotten back to me quickly. Remember he is getting bombarded on all sides by us for parts inquiries for some pretty exotic shit at times i.e. IMPUL kits and not to mention he is taking emails from his website as well. I can imagine he is IM'ed to hell and back when he does appear online. I know I drive him nuts.

hey hey hey...chill man....geez, like Henry said, i gots tons of emails to answer from just this forum alone and most people ask me about Japanese bodykits and they freak out and complain to me when they hear the price....and every time i need to get someone a quote from japan, i usually have to call up Japan to get the price quote...and plus i get A LOT more emails from other people who visit the web sites (since non of my partners aren't doing JACK hehe...) anyway, for the Konis..i thought i emailed you? i believe they are $140 a piece. i'll confirm that on monday.
my favorite response to people who are waiting for stuff from Japan (in this case, jason for his wheels)..."soon...soon"...hahah, i have lost count on how many "soon's" i told brian for his impul kit....but eventually it'll come....hahaha :)

Well at last i have seen this kit on a P11....and i can tell you it looks TIGHT !!!!:D :D
I was driving back home today and spotted a nice looking white p11 parked in town. So being the nosy prick that i am i parked up and went and had a look.
Fully kitted out in a IMPUL kit that you are getting boogie....running on 215/35/19 and slammed to the max :D :D ....black tints etc etc.
Hang around for awhile to talk to this guy.....and what do ya know......a women turns up and she's the owner !!!......and not bad looking i must say
She's owned it for a few weeks after getting it from Japan.
So we chatted for a while and i told her about this site and she may post up some pics or i'll try and get some myself.

Yeah I kind of thought that would happen. I get quite a few e-mails asking me where they can get those Japanese body kits. I tell everyone that they are EXPENSIVE! Either people don't read, can't comprehend english or just think I'm full of shit.
