alright so i'm about to buy an 85 GT with a practically new motor that has all sorts of performance mods already. gonna need to insure the car. who do you guys use for insurance, and who has the lowest premiums? esurance gave me an estimate of 750+/6 mo, with bare minimum coverage pretty much.
also, a company that doesn't want the first 6 months all at once would be preferable, i'm hard up enough for cash with this deal as it is.

This all depends:
1. Driving Record -- accidents, tickets, etc
2. Age -- if you're a single male under 25 you pay more
3. Location -- metro areas have more risk and you pay more
4. Consumer Credit -- Many companies now charge people more who have bad credit
5. Discounts -- home owners, life policies, etc may get you better rates if done through the same company.
6. Coverage -- bare bones or full coverage
7. Type of Vehicle -- Some get stolen more and some are known to have aggressive drivers. Mustangs falls into that category...
Okay I may have let a few things out but that should cover the basics. I pay $1200 / yr for higher limits 100/300 (that's full coverage up to $300,000). I am married in my 30's with a good record and every discount I can get. I pay more for higher limits to protect personal assets in case I get sued.
Long story it all depends.

I use a local company here for all my cars, but hey go though Safety Insurance Company. I also get a multi-car discount, plus a 3% union discount for where I work and having the insurance taken directly out of my paycheck every week.
I still pay a lot though with a surcharge step of 14.
I pay $1,337 for my GT, $1,212 for my van and $731 for the new coupe. Full coverage on all.

also if youre in highschool and make all A's or A's and B's on your report card, you save some money. Apparently people who make good grades are better drivers then ones who dont..... or so statistics show....

I have Allstate, and the insurance if I do end up getting the 96 Cobra would be 1800 a year. My dad believes that was for to drive not me tho. Also going under my parents name.
You better hope you have a good record if you want a pony
