Transmission Mounting

I changed the oil today on my 2 wheel drive Trailblazer & took a look around under it as this was the first time I did it myself on this truck. I found that one of the mounting bolts for the back of the transmission was hanging loose & the other was gone ! I tried to tighten the one & replace the other but found out that where the bolts thread into the transmission case, the case itself was broken. Currently, there's nothing holding the back of the trans down. It's just sitting on the frame. It looks like the back section of the transmission case should be replaced. This doesn't look cheap. I've only got 46,000 on this vehicle. The only way I can think that this could happen is that the bolts were never in right to begin with. I've had it since it was new & never wrecked it. This area looks pretty flimsy compared to the rest of the truck. Anybody else have this problem ?

Yes, I have heard of it. Read about it in other forums. Try scanning through reviews at www.carreview.com
