Although the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is an amazing and superior car to all other cars (as are all Porsches,) I must disagree with you about it being the best Porsche. If you didn't know...Because of the added weight of the four wheel drive system, and other goodies, the 911 Carrera 4S is the SLOWEST 911 in Porsche's current lineup!

I happen to think the C4S is amazing, but it is really just a Turbo - the enigne, still an amzing car tohugh. I'd have to say in the current lineup, the Turbo would still take honors.

What about the GT2!?
Porsche

Too hardcore race, I want a practical car, the AWD is a nice feature to. The GT2 is awesome but if I ever had one, I'd make it a race only model, the Turbo is quite sufficient for driving normally.

Yeah, actually, I'd have to agree with you about what you said, Porsche! The GT2 is not a daily driver, but the turbo is more than sufficient.

I see how quickly you all turn your backs on the 959. I like the 968 Turbo S the most. Actually, I like factory M030 968's, with a proper aftermarker turbocharging job, so you keep the VVT and 16V head.
Factory 968 Turbo S
305 bhp/6000 rpm,
369 ftlbs/3000? rpm,
6 Speed/LSD
M030 suspension
911 Turbo S wheels + brakes
2850 lbs, 50/50 distribution
My project 968 Turbo S
450 bhp/6500rpm
425 ftlbs/2500rpm
6 Speed/LSD
M030 suspension
996 Turbo Wheels/brakes
2600 lbs(with leather + air, all the goodies still intact) 50/50 weight dist.

Well a 968 with those specs would make my smile. I love any porsche with the 996 turbo wheels. "Evolution" they're called for the 996 (NA) and they look very nice. I fell in love with the 944 when I saw one with those rims.

That 968 is based off of 924S, with a 968 drivetrain. Turboed using a K27, custom barrel valve intake, Motec M48 ECU, with lightweight body panels from Infinite Fiberworks. Total cost, about $15,000.
Can be done a lot more reasonably for $8000

Too loud , to stiff , those seats , if you ever tried them , are wonderful in corners , but after a couple hours on the freeway they become annoying , your back hurts you , also it has RWD and in slippery conditions this kind of power + RWD isn't the best combination , there's no rear seats, i'd take the regular 996 turbo for a dialy driver plus a GT2 for track... :hehe: ... or you can tune up your turbo , have ... say 530 hp and awd , similar or better performance then the GT2 and still drive it daily.... Anyway if i could take two porsches from all of the porsches ever made , i'd take a 928 GTS for daily driving and a 959 to go crazy... i know they're not the newest and maybe not the best , but IMO they're best...

Hey Tom,
too loud ?
- didn't strike me as being any louder in side than a TT
too stiff ?
- agreed, very stiff
seats ?
I have always found the GT2 / GT3 seats extremely good, even over distance
RWD
- the 90/10 variable viscous coupling isn't the best system in the wet anyway.
...not unless 11th Hr saves appeal to you.
drive something with a bias closer to 50/50, you will see what I mean.
530Hp TT as a daily driver
- I tend to agree that this would be a great idea, but your noise & rough ride concerns will be just as vaild for the TT then...
928 GTS as a daily driver
AGREED :D :D :D

Go with an 917 hehe. But for the street it would have to be the 993 Turbo S sweet ride that it is. Fast and has a nice fat rear end.

The GTS is a very good DD, but I'd rather have the 993 TS. It just has a presence the 928 could never match. IMO.
I'll stick with my little 968 though, it's got all the power I need, and a good ride too. Best handling Porsche ever made.

I know that loud exhaust is fun or ever more fun ;) but i once was riding with my friend in a car with extremely loud exhaust for 26 hours and my head was going to explode... You know if we were driving normally like accelerating etc i love the sound , but there was horrible traffic jam , actually we made 500 km in those 26h... :bloated: ... and yeah i know that porsche's AWD isn't that good for rain/snow but yet it's still better than RWD , btw isn't it 95 rear / 5 front? I think that regular carrera 4s are like that , for the turbo i didn't care enough to check , but if it starts to slip then it can be like 60 front / 40 rear or so.... Yeah i know what you mean , i drive an audi S8 daily and it's 50/50 and in snow it's amazing , i turn of the electronics , mash the gas and it doesn't lose traction at all... in carrera 4s it wasn't so good , i have never had any 4WD turbo but it's probably even worse due to more power. I have one turbo now , but it's RWD and i would NEVER drive it below 10 celcius , and i only drive it when it's sunny and dry , and still have problems to keep it on the track sometimes :bloated:  :finger: .... Oh man the sun's shining , it's like 12 grades i gotta go do some driving... :D

I wish I had the time and money to get a 911 Turbo... Oh well, I'll have to stick to the 968.
I'm thinking of putting a 1.8 turbo in my 924, but it would require all sorts of chopping to make fit. Am I correct in thinking that an Audi 2.0L from a 924 or Audi 90 has the same bellhousing as a 1.8T?
I think 300hp in a 2200lb 924 would make a good daily driver until I get my 968 finished....

Before the new 997....
I think the best and most complete Porsche was the 2004 911 40th anniversary ediotion...
It has everything you could want and you can drive the car everyday..and take it to the track on week-ends.....
But the new GT3....wow

Victory Motor Cars - I live in Houston and have been to the store many times. The cars I've seen look great. It looks like they do a little work on them in the shop next to the showroom to get them ready for sale. The local PCA chapter also has their meetings at the store - Victory Motor Cars.
Some people said thing as BE WARE!!! for their owned businees but we must see the true then saying the right about Victory Motor Cars

I couldnt say there's any one Porsche model that wins the best title.
GT1, GT2, GT3, 917, 962, 993 Turbo S, 2.7 S Touring.
Porsche is just too damn good

I agree with that but im just looking at the Panamera. It looks like they took the cayman and streached it. i haven't seen the specifications but im assuming they will be very similar to the cayman. Not to impressed with the desighn team on this one.

I feel that 996 Turbo is the best of all. I know that it is not the most attractive model but the performance is just awesome. It has a 4 second 0-60 time and a 190mph top speed which makes it so special.
