factory alarm stoped working?

On my 98 gti the alarm doesnt honk the horn or set the lights. the door locks all work fine and the tank latch works. i was told the there might be a switch out but i have no idea where it may be.

that just happened on my 97 gti? the doors lock and all, but it doesn't honk when i lock it anymore. just happened 2 weeks ago. weird. what gives

I am having the same problem with my 97 gti. I also notice that the vacuum pump keeps working for about 10-30 seconds after I unlock the doors and get in the car...

hey..., i was wondering what the sound was! my 97 does the same thing. the vacuum pump. it "whizzes" for about 7 seconds after i turn the car on. what the hey?

the sounds that my car make are normal. it is that none of the alarm fuctions work. i tried the other to arm it then break in. well guess what? i manage to get the door to open but the alarm still didnt go off.
