Saab hatchback? 9-2X? That's a Subaru.
Nice design, I just have to say that the wheels are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too big.

yes. tone wheels down in size about 15% at least.
i like this overall design. it is the same thing you've been doing right? this a variation on the theme.
this version is much cleaner and more convincing. i'd like to see you commit to spoke designs in the rims. and you insist that this car does not need mirrors.

Yeah, i've been using the same technique i did for the last one. I'll be adding all the details before i render it. I'll try to post an update soon.
Thank for your comments.

Most designers (at that stage) really don't bother with mirrors and door handles. A sketch is to brainstorm ideas for a design. This means general shapes and key feautures. In reality, Tranportational Design students don't even do the designing or doorhandles and maybe mirrors, that's for the Industrial Designers.
I see a million great possibilities with the wheel styles, I'd go for a thin 7 spoke design myself, but whatever you want! But like I said, you need to update some of the general proportions in the wheels :D (Maybe raise the roofline a wee lil' bit?)

Um, isnt transportation design a section of industrial desing? :eek7:

This is an update, i'm quite dissapointed with it. I'll try to improve it later on. Anyways, here it is. Any thoughts?

There isn't enough detail on the front end. As example, there isn't even definative headlights. I'd suggest also colouring the far side of the hood, it will complete the general feel of the paintwork.
Transportational design is an entirely different course from Ind Design. So, no Canadian University/College in Canada offers Trans Design, therefore, if your job application requires Trans, and you have a degree in Ind, it's no good. Only a few schools in the world offer the Trans Program. You do learn a lot of the same stuff (product design, for instance) but your drawing bicycles and cars, not coggs and pulleys.

Transportation design is an aspect of industrial design. There are many fields you can go into from industrial design, transportation design, product design, environmental design, digital art, and ergonomics. Thats what I understand from other people I have talked to including ACCD.

I'm just saying that the course is called Transportational Design.
Of course they are all going to be based on Ind deisgn, that's what the field is. They decided that they needed more specific courses offering a more detailed course for every environment, hence all of these courses. And since they are all just continuations of the basic Ind courses, they all share the basics, like ergonomics, trends etc. It's fairly simple in that sense. And yes, some facilities have some portions of the courses together.
If you look at the limited amount of Trans Designers that graduate, and then the amount on the job field, it makes you wonder. There are maybe 2,500 car designers out there. How many of them have full time jobs at car companies? Maybe 1,000. So what do the rest of them do, jobless? They have an excelent degree, so they use it. Most of these guys have MBA's as well, so they can go into freelance work (with car companies maybe), internships or product design. Look on almost any car designer's site, he (or she?) will have a broad section on car design coupled with a section on their previous product design efforts. I was searching the designer sites (CDN's directory) and I found out that some products that I have used and seen are designed by car design guys (such as Anon snow goggles). So as we can see, the design field is amazingly diverse, yet it all can tie in together at some point.
Hell, for some of us, all of this can change by the time we get to our respective schools. I'm looking for oppurtunities of sponsorships and scholarships, to help the ENOURMOUS fees that you see at ACCD or similar grade schools. I'm only 15, so much can change in the (x) years 'till I get so SoCal, becoming a designer. I just have to say, see you there!!!

I hope to see you at ACCD as well...only problem are those fee's just as you said. It matches the rest of cali, expensive. I would love to go to ACCD, but I would love to spend all that money on building a hot rod and getting my business off the ground and just go to Auburn instead.

Car's are the worst invesment in the world. I hate to say it, but it's true.
I'm going to keep this all anonimous, but I've seen some work by accepted CCS students. One of these guys won a scholarship there for his entry work. I honnestly have to say that his work was sub-par. It's looking good for me, no matter where I go :p
I am already getting help from people studying these courses, and I will continue that. I am also going to build serious contacts in this business, so that when the time comes to send off my 'folio, then I will get some professional pointers. Just some ideas, but I have heard that this kind of stuff works. And the love to see it on your CV.
ACCD isn't the only opion... There are other schools, CCS etc. There's also the option of studying in Europe, the heart of design. There are several ones in England, and some others throughout Europe.
This is an entire new discussion for an entire new day.
