Hesitant to race

Has anyone noticed the rash of people who put on their street racing image, and never actually race? I know everyone has, but I felt like ranting. So many people come to races, and they stall as much as possible when they are asked to race. Granted they don't want to be mismatched they should atleast step up when the odds were even. Don't bring your little racing persona, and never act on it.

What brought this to mind was A confrontation with my friend at good old Jack in the Box. He drives a 96'? dodge neon sport automatic, and I told him I wanted to race him. He replies that it is a waste of time, and he would "smoke" me.

One saturday night I catch him a racing gathering, and ask him to race in an industrial park. He tells me to wait until everyone leaves so they could block off the road for us to race. (F&F has claims another life). Even when I finally get him to race me he says he doesn't even want to because I'd walk his neon. I say if your going to talk shit you better accept a race.

When do you think the fast and furious street racers will quit coming to races. I'm sure by then though there will be another ten movies to rekindle everyone elses interest.

Next time, tell him to put his money where his mouth is. People like that piss me off and I always race them with the prize of the loser filling the winners tank with gas.....makes the race worth it on your end :icon16:

Actually I asked to bet $20 when I first saw him. 3 days later it he told me $10, and by the time we got to race he didn't even want to bet. He must of lost faith in his fart can and "domestic racer" window sticker after he read up about my car.

Edit: As for the "pure scene" when f&f first came out I was too young to drive, but I would have atleast thought it to be better then it is today.

poor loser...at least hes smart enough to inform himself on the competition. There goes your money but at least maybe now he'll shut up his mouth

Challenge 'em like Raz Kaz said...motor where the mouth is. Otherwise, they can shut the hell up until they're ready to do otherwise.

Those people piss me off too. People that race for obvious results drive me nuts too...for example, an LS1 asking me for a run for money. Umm, no, that's just stupid.

Not really.

Stupid posers have always been around. I remember when I got my first GTC. There were plenty of ricers just full of shit that wanted to race me. This was long before Fast and the Furious came out. Fast and the Furious simply has made people more aware of the hobby. So, you might notice the posers more, and I am sure there have been some people brought into the hobby simply because of those movies, but it wasn't all that much better before the movies came out.
