Need help with my RS

I have a modded RS i bought about 5 months ago, about 2 months back it started to die on me when i was warming it up in the morning, at first i just thought it was cause it needed a tune up, so i had it tuned from head to toe :naughty: But as the weeks went by, it got worse, when i got to a stop light it would just die for no reason, but it always started right back up. Now even when i ride down the street or on the highway it jerks like it wants to turn off! I took it to 3 mechs and even the mitsubishi service place and they cant find nothing wrong with it, they say to wait for it to get alot worse then bring it back!!!! MAN forget that, what if i pull up to some fine girl i want to talk to and my car dies! That would suck. I really need your help guys.

when the car is actually running stick your foot into it pretty hard and see if that kills the engine. my car was kicking like a mule and wanting to die here a while back due to that.

i was gonna say spark plugs. or timing belt. but i am sure the dealer prob checked that already.

Maybe try checking all of your vacuum connections and lines. I had a cracked vacuum line that caused similar problems, wherein the car would want to die when I came to a stop, but started back up fine.

100% sure it's your ECU! Get it replaced before it totally doesn't start otherwise you'll end up like me and have to get the car towed and pay 200 dollars in towing charges.

96TSi, i tried what you said and it didnt turn off but thanks anyway. A friend told me to clean the air intake with a carb cleaner, that is supposed to be choking the car. Hes going to do it for me since hes done it before. I dont want to mess it up :grinno: Thanks for the info skyllz, if cleaning it doesnt work, i'll take your advice, Just in case how much can i get the non turbo 5spd from you EclipseRST? ive posted before with the same probel, it idles goofy and wants to die sometimes, ands does that buckin shit....so your pretty sure its the ECU? If so ill be on ebay if anyone wants to sell a 5 speed NA ECU.
