~D16 1.6L ~VTEC head or Port head?

I don't know if I should put a port head or a VTEC HEAD? i have a few stuff in my car (cant tell u wat it is) ....it cherp every gear except for 5th cause i never tried to push it that hard!.. what do u think i should do?
