Can anyone recomend what to look for or expect for my 1987 Chev S10 which is leaking coolant from the engine. I can see the coolant leak after the truck is shut off, coming from under the engine itself, but not exactly sure where. I am not all that familiar with fixing stuff so just thought I could get some opinions on what it might be, how expensive to fix ect. Thanks.

We need more info !!!
Where is it dripping ? Which side of the engine ?
How much is dripping ?
If you can give us more, someone should be able to help !!!

I dont know much about trucks, so hope this helps. It is leaking from underneithe the engine, from what looks like the center(roughly 5 inches back from the front of the engine by the belts). It leaks roughly about 8-12oz's of coolant after the truck is shut off, and unkown if the truck leaks while running. I do not know if there is a drain plug for the coolant that may be leaking or if it is from the engine itself, its hard to see. Hope this can help.

That would be my first assumption as well, (water pump) leaks on any engine seldom come directly from above, one has to account for fan and air flow from front to rear, making most leakage situations travel rearward.

If your water pump turns out to not be the problem they also had a problem back then with the head bolts breaking usually ending up in an internal leak but on some occasions if it was an outside bold it would turn external.
