dont' waste your money on a v6 stang. wait till your'e older and have a real car and spend your money wisely on that.

IMHO v6 mustangs with aftermarket exhuast sound stupid as hell.

and flowmasters suck, by the way =)

umm lots of people mod v6 stangs, thats like telling te old 2.3 i4 stangs not to mod them, and look many of them can run 12's, the v6 stang has a great after market.

agh. so much hate for the V6. i wish people would just be useful instead of bashing six shooters.

here's what you need to do: either split the y-pipe or get a GT exhaust and have it installed. either way will not cost you much (around $250) and will get you about 15 hp. if you want to go all the way you can get longtubes, an h-pipe, and exits from MAC, which will sound really good and work well with any forced induction (if you're planning to go that far.) that'll cost you about $1500 though and won't give you much more of a performance gain if you're stock. the h-pipe and long tubes will improve your tone, however, and MAC flowpaths are good mufflers.

also, i disagree with the statement that V6's sound bad. they don't sound like V8s, but that's because THEY'RE NOT. i love the tone of my V6, it's definelty better sounding than a fart-pipe four cylinder and in my opinion sounds better than stock duals on other v6s (350Z, Grand Prix)

lastly, a V6 stang can be a performance option, and can in fact be tuned to have over 400 rwhp, which again is not as much as a V8 has potential for, but it is still a lot.

well, i hope i've been useful. sixers gotta help a brutha out.

They can have a decent tone. I liked the way my old 3.8 sounded with duals. Your right it is better then the 4 bangers.

obviously someone speaking with no facts to back up statements.

IMO, find out the mods available because I've seen some wicked modified V6 stangs.

My first stang was a 96 v6 with a 3.8 and it was so modded that it would outrun many gt's of the same year. IMHO go with a SINGLE flowmaster with fake duals....this sounded really good on mine...if you go with two it will sound like fried rice!!! Plus with the v6 you need just the one muffler for backpressure... For a v6 they are better than most cars on torque.... :smokin:

have fun!!

I don't know if I would really run a single chamber flow? Way too loud and annoying! Actually I wouldn't run flows at all, I personally hate them!

As far as exhaust, Pace Setter, makes and h-pipe for the V6 single to duel exhaust, as well as other company's, then you can choose the catback of your choice. My personal preference would be Magnaflow, Dynomax or MAC. I say I don't like flowmasters because of the chambered design, a flow though muffler would be much better, and kinda has a better sound too I think.
