Timing belt for 1983 Supra

I am new to the Supra world and have my eye on a 1983 supra with 26K orignal miles. I am thinking the timing belt needs to be replaced avery 60K miles or so, but what about length of time?

21 years is a looooong time I think on the orignal timing belt (if it has yet to be replaced).

How many YEARS can a belt safely be left on its own before it should be replaced?

Thanks,

jeff

Yes you have the milage right, definetly replace it because of the age though. Rubber degrades over time and after 21 years I imadgine it's probably dry rotted :p Congradulations on finding such an awesome, low milage MKII, :bigthumb: is the car in as good as condition as I imadgine it would be with the low miles?

I have yet to see the car. I agree, the miles are hard to beleive. But the fella owns a car repair business and he appears to be on the up an up.

If I ge the car, or get piks at least, I will post here.

Thank you for the reply :)

Jeff
