I am intrested in getting a new hood, but not carbon fiber, it wont go good with my car color.
I came across the Black Widow II hood, and i love it. it has style, but it is still low profile (comared to the "monster hood").
But does anyone know if the scoop is functional, or if you can modify it to be functional.

its probably there just for the looks. the only hoop scopes that actual work are place over the air intake because at air speeds the air is cramed into the intake working like a turbocharger. but hey, it never hurts to get extra air under the hood.

really, well i'll ask a few more peoples opinions and see, just that hood pins sometimes are hard to take out and shit. It is one of the nicest paintable aftermarket hoods I have ever seen for a civic.

You don't need hood pins. I guarentee you that you can get one with a latch or you can add one on if you're crafty enough.

BUT, I called Ground Designs 2000 the manufacturer. A Chick answered the phone and said it needed hood pins, then I was like "The Pictures on your web site don't have them." She said "those are show cars".... what ever that means.???
I will call again.

Yeah that's what I mean. They probably had latches added or added them themselves. I don't think it would be too hard. Try doing some research on custom fabrication.

If you want the hood you can just take a jig saw to the spot where its closed off and cut it out
kind of crude but it works

i have a black widow ll hood and i like it, but it wont fit if you have a b-series swap done to your civic. the widow hood has 2 layers, and you have to cut the bottle layer off for it to fit over your valve cover.
