2003 Shift knob removal!

Hey guys! I just bought a new shift knob to install into my car, and I've taken the whole console out... I can't seem to get it off, I've twisted it, tried looking for a clip... Nothing, I just can't get it off.... :banghead: It has that lil thing that you pull up to put it in reverse I don't know if that affects anything... Please help me! I'd really appreciate it!

there should be a little kind of like staple looking thing behind the shifter near the radio side that you pry off first.

if it is the same as the 2002 cavi's then the piece on the top of the shifter that has the numbers on it will pry off, and there is a screw under there. i know when i put on my aftermarket shift knob i had to also remove the piece that you lift up to put it in reverse in order for my shift knob to fit properly. i hope this helps
