I have a new engine with 12,000 mi. The service engine light started blinking 2 days before it just died and the A/C compressor would stop while light blinked. Now it won't start and it is getting fuel & spark to plugs. I have replaced the EEC unit, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, & fuel pump. I thought it might be the ignition module but could not find it.Is there something I'm missing? Problem solved, the harmonic balancer broke and spun around the shaft giving the crankshaft sensor a false reading, making it think it was out of timing. Thanks for all the help

You need to check the stored codes in the computer. a diagnostic check at a local repair shop would have been a lot cheaper than all of those parts. If you have spark, and you have fuel pressure, you need to check for injector pulse. If you have pulse you need to check compression.

Was unable to read any codes. None stored or erased

Have you checked to see if the ignition timing's off by a few degrees?? Using a timing light will also give you an idea if the ignition module's working. If you see the light flash while cranking, the module's probably good, if not, there's a possibility that's your culprit. BTW, 4.6V8 has the ignition module located on pass. side fenderwell. As I recall, the 3.8V6 was behind the driver's headlight, but don't hold me to that....it's testing my memory from working on my wife's '89 which has been gone for some time now...
Good luck!!

I'm getting fire & fuel to plugs but won't crank. I have looked for the ignition module but was unable to find it. Someone told me that the distributorless ignition did not come with a module. Still won't crank

Be sure the electric fan in back of the radiator is connected. If it is unplugged the engine won't turn over.

My t-bird went dead, just clicked when I turned the key. My son-in-law got under the car, smacked the starter motor with a hammer and guess what? Started right up. Get a bigger hammer. (We did replace the starter motor after all so this wouldn't happen again).

My car turns over fine, I now it's not the starter. I have gotten another mechanic to check it with certain testers. He told me the relay control module was bad but that wasn't it. It still does not start.I have towed it to a local dealer and they can't seem to figure it out.
