No turn signals!

I have a 97 Wrangler 4.0 Sahara, I have replaced all the fuses and bulbs - everywhere, and I still have no turn signals. Once in a while the light on the dash lights up as if the turn signal is on, as if it is saying it is not working, but then goes away a few seconds later. Any suggestions before I pay out the nose for this?

sounds like either a flasher or a multifunction switch.

Sometimes the ignition can get stuck on my 97 wrangler rendering the turn signals useless. This may sound dumb but when you start up your jeep, make sure the ignition returns to the proper spot.

I replaced the entire turn signal assembly....still nothing. Jeep has nothing listed under multifunction switch or flasher. Any chance on an elaboration of what you mean? Thanks for the reply!

oh well that was kinda a shot in the dark, im actualy a chevy tech, and just inherited my jeep so im learning myself, not familiar with the jeep setup for wiring, but in a chevy there is a flasher, kinda an intermittant relay for the hazard circuit and the flasher circuit, and if that goes bad, the flashers wont work anymore. these flashers are seperate from the switch in the steering coulumn and are normally near the fuse block inside the car.
