ok well my friend got his evo about a week and couple days ago. and hes at about 900 miles so he wants to start practicing launchin for races liek at the local track. what the best way to launch?

rev it to about 6000, and control the clutch when you let it out. like whenever the clutch kicks in, floor the gas, and let it out slower in the beginning and a little quicker near the end. dont pop it though, let it out faster than normal overall, but not too fast, you dont wanna break your tranny. ive done launches at 7000 before to, with good results on a wrx, but it was modified to like 300whp with a peaky power band. you ll pretty much now when you get it right, it ll launch smooth and hard off the line.

ok thanks .. yea hes been practicing around 4500 and hes doing still to slow i tihnk .. still roasting the clutch a littlie...

If you wanna launch then try getting a new stronger clutch to handle all that. Because the clutch wasnt made to launch too hard.
