Let's say I wanna buy a car on ebay, how can I get someone to test drive the car if it's 1500 miles away?

Does anyone know any websites?

You could always hire one of us AF members :iceslolan

Anyway, depending on where your area, there should be some type of company that does car checks.

Here in my area theres something called "Car Checkers of San Jose"

I'm sure they'll be happy to go out there and do a diagnostic on the car for you.

I'm trying to buy this salvaged car from California. Any car experts wanna go check it out? The car had only right hand side shell damage, but I wanna make sure everything is ok and don't feel like flying over 1500 miles to find out I don't wanna buy it.

Also, is the warranty still effective if the car has been titled "salvaged or rebuilt"??? Would the insurance rates be higher? Would I have problems with my local DMV??

The area code phone # of the car's location is (909) I believe it's california. Who would wanna do it? I need someone who knows something about cars.

The reason why I was asking about the warranty is because this car is known to have transmission problems. I need to make sure it runs perfect! It only has 43K miles.

Sounds like a dog to me.....Panel damage, trans problems, guy trying to hock it off on Ebay because his insurance won't pay out[if he ever had any].

For a car like this I'd want to see a couple of quotes from body shops and a full mechanical inspection report.Sounds like its late-model but poorly kept.If it was a viable repair,he'd be able to sell it locally or get it done himself.

It's a 2001 Acura. It wasn't his car. He bought it and repaired the right side, which was the only thing that was damaged. There was only shell damage to the right side of the vehicle, nothing else. It wasn't even his car. It was probably some rich guy who was in an accident and got money from his insurance company, so he probably just tried to get rid of it and sold it for cheap to this guy. I figured the guy who originally owned this car didn't know a lot about cars and that it could be fixed.

The 2001-2003 Acura TLs and CLs are known to have transmission problems, not neccesserly this one. They said they were built with a few cheap parts, so Acura extended the warranty to 7 years and 100,000 miles. Whoever had a problem would just go to their local dealer and get a new transmission, and the new trannys were built with better parts.

This car retails for a lot more than what I can get it for, and you can't even tell that it was in an accident. All it was was pretty much a big scratch to the right side of the vehicle, looks like someone tried to merge into his lane and didn't see the car so after the impact, he merged back. (What I think happened) Engine or transmission weren't affected at all. I will show you guys some pics later and you can be the judge.

The car looks in excelent shape, I just need someone to test drive it to make sure it drives as good as it looks and that there are no transmission problems. Of course I'll pay.

I don't think you will have any problems with the tranny. honda engines and trannies will last a long time. I have heard about 2nd gen integras having some problems but never the 3rd gen ones. My 2nd gen has 160,000 miles on it and no engine/tranny problems at all.
