So wuts the Inline 4 from the 2004 Tiburon referred to? I have worked for years on Nissan, Honda and Toyota engines (tuning and the like, several turbocharged especially Nissans). This will be my first Tiburon engine, let alone a one off turbo install. The bottom end will be fortified as usual. Any recommendations? Stroker? The heads will be Dyna-Honed and I will see on building a one-off intake manifold. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :screwy:

I believe it's if you're looking for the engine code Beta II. The Chassis code is GK, but that's the same for all 3rd Gen Tiburons

thanks for info. I am taking a crash course in Hyundai engine building. From the look of it though, it looks similiar to a Nissan SR20 block. I'm sure i can pull a couple tricks i use on that motor for this one. Is the new Beta II aluminum or iron... cause i'm getting conflicting information? I'm thinking iron... think i'll go inspect one really quick... if its aluminum... oh well, the new QR25 Sentra SE-R motor... is aluminum.... =/
have you heard anyone stroking the motor? 2.2 maybe or am i streching the specs?

the code is beta II as cole said.
it is VERY similiar in design to the 4g63 engine found in mitsus.
the only real difference between the beta II and beta I is that hyundai used CVVT in the head of the beta II. im pretty sure the block is identical, so you could use pistons and rods available for the beta I. the whole engine is aluminum.
as for stroking it, i havent seen anyone do it on a beta. people have turbo'd the living shit outta it though, ive seen dynos from beta in korea at 700whp.
if you really wanna get good stuff, look for tigerlilly products available from korea through kspec.com. they can actually get a LSD for you too, from M&TEC.
LSD

forged turbo pistons

get some pauter or crower rods custom made
get your crank knife-edged and balanced
HALTECH, or wait until AEM finishes developing a harness for the GK to use with their EMS.
