86 Firebird headlights won't go down

I have a 86 Firebird and my headlights work but they wont go down. Any ideals what the problem is?

The motors are known to fail when old but they may just be too stiff for the power or it may be a fuse. Thry turning them manually and seeing if they are fairly easy toturn or not.

Check the fuses.

although i am not sure, i think it is your headlight switch. get it replaced(switch is like $10 or so). i had same problem in my 89 but never replaced switch because i traded my car in. i was emailed by someone who had the problem and he replaced switch and it worked. this is what happened on my car, when you press the off button the lights turn off but the lights dont go down. but they work fine turning on and going up.so try that and see where you get. good luck.

im going to agree wit h1gwyman, your motors are prolly shot n need to b replaced, look in a junkyard n save a good bit of money, or go to yearone.com or paddockparts.com n find them

im sure its the motors, but pop the hood and there is a black circle nub and you twist that thing for about 3 minutes and you can put them down manually, hey you have an american car, what else do you expect? lol
