Today I drove my car to a friend's house, it had no trouble starting, or driving. I was there about 10 minutes, came out, turned the key and there was nothing. No noise, lights, anything. My friend helped me jump it and I drove home. About a mile from my home (I had been driving approx 6 miles) it started jerking a little bit, I slowed down and kind of limped home. After I turned it off I thought I'd try starting it again, just to see. Same thing as before. Nothing. Any ideas? I have to take this foolish car on a 10 hour round trip on Wednesday....... thanks for your help.

Check your battery to see if it is OK. If it is OK then check the alternator and all connections. You'll need a battery tester or VOM to do this. Otherwise take vehicle to a shop where they can do it or take battery and alternator out and take to shop or auto parts store. Many of them test for free.
