Vortec Ques..(350..96-?)

I wrecked the motor in my truck... 96 4x4 vortec 350 auto

I'm gonna buy another motor and rebuild mine at my leasure..I was wondering what year did those type of vortecs run...I want to put the newest engine in as possible...is it 99' that they had the 350 vortecs? and 2000 they changed them?

The Vortec 350 went from 1996-1999 in the C/K trucks.

Thanks for the info "chevytrucks92" ,so if I ask the wreckers for a "350 vortec from a 99' " I should have no swapping problems? ie;computer issues ect....

Well, there should'nt be any differences, but I'm not real sure on that. You will have to be sure and specify that you have a C/K truck instead of a Silverado because Silverado as we know became the name of the full size Chevy trucks instead of C/K series in 1999 (and the 1999 Silverado has the 5.3-327-Vortec engine, where as the 1999 C/K series still used the 5.7-350-Vortec engine).
