Last night I was told that the Camaro is coming back in 2007. Has anyone else heard about this, or is it just another rumor?

I saw on a web site that this boy used some graphics program and designed a totally new one. I don't remember what site it was but I think it's either going to come out in '05 or '06. From what I can see it looks nice. I'll try and look for it and let you know.

The GTO at least is a LS1 powered rear wheel drive car capable of 13 Sec 1/4 mile runs . The Impala is now a soccer mom car that doesn't even deserve to be at the track

Well ... if GM brings back the camaro it has to be because of the high request of the people. And GM should know that everyone wants a rear wheel drive vehicle. They can't be that blind. I'll keep my fingers crossed cause there is realy know telling what there going to do.

Well I have written many emails and letters to them but I did get this in response.

Dear Mr. McDonnell,

Thank you for contacting the Pontiac Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the
discontinuation of the F-body series of vehicles. Due to the decrease in demand
for the sport segments, this decision was unavoidable.

We apologize for the disappointment expressed in your email and want
you to know that a number of Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird owners
and enthusiasts have expressed their fondness for this vehicle.

If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this
message or call our Pontiac Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-762-2737.
Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

Again, thank you for contacting Pontiac. We have documented your
comments under file number 1-196740914.

Sincerely,

Karen Wardrop

Comments : I'm as a current and past GM-
Ponitac owner concerned that GM is
doing nothing to compete in the
Pony Car market, I believe the GTO
is a great Sedan but although it
has a great powertrain and appeals
to a variety of different people
but most in the 30 - up Market ,
As a mid 20's owner who because of
a recent employment opportunity is
car shopping for a New Auto is
stuck going to the Ford dealership
looking for a sporty car with some
power behind it. As a die hard GM
man my whole life this pains me. I
believe that its time for a new
Camaro / Firebird / Formula /Trans
Am.

Here is the public scoop that was the editorial in the new Popular Hot Rodding magazine:
GM has deisigned the Zeta PLatform for a buick called the velite. It is a RWD platform that GM is toying with a V8 idea for. The rumor is that the Camaro may come back as a 40th Anniversary car in 2007 on the V8 RWD Zeta chassis.

The Firebird WILL NOT be back. GM (Scot Settlemeier) has made it clear that the Camaro is only on Hiatus, but the Firebird is not coming back.

Thats cool at least if they give some competition to Ford Motor Company and if a new Firebird Model doesn't come out The resale Value of mine will go up.

They said that they are deffinately not going with a retro look (due to decline in sales of the new t-bird, pt cruiser, prowler...), that it will deffinately be rear wheels drive, and that since camaro was the leading pony car when it left that they are going to keep it that way. also they put a stop to the new chevelle and decided to go with the camaro. the camaro will look kinda like the new chevelle concept with some other changes.

what about the nice new engines they put in? ever think of that? who knows maybe we can swap in the 5th gen engine into our oldies... still i will never want to sell my camaro in my life, and i wouldn't swap it for a new one, i would just get both...only if the new one is nice...
