What Headers?

Ive decided on a skunk 2 exhaust and now im wondering what headers i should get...i know most of you dont agree on the skunk 2 but i liked it so now i just need an opinoin on some headers...4-2-1 or 4-1 and what brand thx

what motor are you running stock b18a asuming your SN is your car?
for that a 4-2-1 header i would reccomend Trust/Greddy Comptech ApexI all make great header for the car.
And your getting a header not headers

thats what i meant....and no i dont have a 93....i made this when i had it now i have a 95 ls and whats wrong with the dc 4-1...ive heard pretty good things abot that

where are you trying to make your power??

4-2-1 make more midrange and not as much peak power and 4-1 make more peak power and not as much midrange

i wouldnt worry some much about who makes the header as i would will it go with your engine set up

im not saying go buy a ebay header for $50 and call it a day im just saying you need to know what your goals are and if the header is going to flow the right amount of exhaust for you in the end

ya i get whatr your saying but i have another question....i know ebay sucks but what do they do like but them if they have defects or what...why do they suck that bad

for a non-vtec i would get 4-2-1. for cars with vtec i would probably stick to a 4-1 header. as for brand, i believe in the theory that a pipe is a pipe, who gives a crap who makes it. anyway if you get one with a carb number u will have less trouble with cops if u get pulled over and get your hood popped. i dont know how it is around the other states but that happens a lot in cali. a cop took a picture of my cousins engine bay before he sent him to a state reff. they can be dicks sometimes.

I have a set or Chikara Torque Steps and I would not recoommend them. DC your basically paying for the name. There is a brand called Airmass and its made by Holley headers. I have heard good things and the performance gains are supposed to be just like the DCs. Only now you'll pay a hundred bucks less!

not everything on ebay sucks you just need to ask question before you bid/buy, some of the stuff sold on ebay arent real they are rip-offs

but then again some of them are real online stores you just need to do alot of checking up on them before you buy anything

yeah i bought my headlight for my hatch for 170 with shipping and the local performance shop wants 250. (see headlights below) it all depends on what ur buying

If you are going with Skunk2, most likely you are shelling out a good amount of cash so you might as well get a DC Sport header. It carries a great reputation and can be attained for relatively cheap prices on eBay. You may save $30 going for a less well-known brand but why bother when you know you'll be safe going with DC Sports?

skunk 2 isnt too expensive....i paid 575...greddy,apexi,dc and hks are more expensive from were i shop so it wasent bad...im just looking for a good quality exhaust with lots of performance

It depends on what your plans are. Are you going all motor, supercharger, just bolt-ons, etc?

If you're just going for the bolt ons, get a DC 4-2-1 or, if you're into spending more, a comptech is slightly better but more expensive.
If you're going all motor, go with a jdm DC, a jdm type r, or any number of more expensive headers with 2.5" collectors. Remember, these will not connect to your stock exhaust. You will have to pay someone to make a custom exhaust or tweak your existing one. And they will not hook up to a stock cat.

If you are going s/c, get a Kamakazi (sp?) header. The same applies with the other 2.5" headers, but the Kamakazi is built for a s/c.

And by the way, the 4-1/4-2-1 myth about high and midrange power is just that: a myth. It has more to do with the design of your specific header than whether it's a 4-1 or 4-2-1.

not all of the ebay headers suck, maybe those that u see around for a "buy it now" price of about 80 bucks suck. i just baught a TSUDO 4-2-1 header for my 97 LS integra. i already have the tsudo N1 catback exhaust on my car and im happy with it's style, quality, sound and performance so i decided to get the header as well. by the way, i only paid 245 bucks for this catback and that includes the price of shipping. the headers i baught for $165 with shipping included.
but if u have the money, get the DC headers. ebay has em for around $215-230 bucks with shipping set around 25-35 bucks. not bad at all. im hooked on ebay!

u can argue all day but 4-1 headers are better for high rpms. it has to do with physics. let me put it english, 4-1 headers create sort of like a vaccum. so all the exhaust gases pretty much get sucked out not pushed out.

I agree. A buddy gave me a Tsudo 4-1, stainless, 1 piece. He had bought it from ebay for I think $175.I had a DC 4-1 that had cracked, so I tried this one. It was a copy of the DC and i tell ya, I could not tell any difference. I think the major thing with the ebay el cheapos is the fit. The designs are usually copies from the big boys. So performance is usually there, but gd luck getting it in.P.S, , the Tsudo fit was great.
