i have a 96 chevy cavalier. wen purchased the stereo was removed. im guessing one of the loose wire have grounded out and stopped my dash lights from working, i checked the fuses and bulbs, i have replaced the bulbs though they looked fine. the dash lights are still not functioning, all other lights and accessories are though. my question is other than the bulbs and fuses what else is there to prevent the lights from working?

and i have cut all the loose wires that ran to the cdunit so there should be nothing else grounding out.

Prolly that loose wire went somewheres that had to do with your dash lights. Some stereos need a lighting wire so the lights in the stareo face work.

Ya might wanna reclaim that wire and put a voltmeter or test light across it to ground (metal) and see if it's hot when ya turn on the parking lights.

If it is, then see what it used to connect to and there's prolly where yer dash lights went.
