02 gt

i just baught a 02 gt with 27k. when i start it when its been sitting over night or a long period a loud whooshing noise sounds, is this normal? is it just suckin up that much air cuz of the high idle? it quiets down an a minute or so.

also whats the best place to get some accesories for it? like blackouts, bra, vents, billet grill and other stuff of that nature? or any under the hood parts the give it a little more power/?

That sound is normal. It is just the EGR opening up inorder to heat up the motor. It is alot louder once you put a CAI(cold air intake) or FWI(fender well intake) on the car.

My car has a CAI and it sounds like a jet plane in the morning for the first minute or so. All of these basically offer the same wares what changes are the prices a buck or 2.

I'll confirm that sound. On my 2002 GT, when I first start it, it makes a really loud whoosing sound that used to cause me concern, but after a minute or so, the engine purrs just like you'd except it to. I always thought that it was realted to warming up the engine and the engine oil, and I'm glad that it's been confirmed by those smarter than me.
