i have a 94 Cougar XR7 4.6L.. i went on a 5 day trip, come home and the car wont start. ok, so i first make sure i can hear the fuel pump prime yes it primes i pull out my fuel pressure gauge and first prime is low 15-20 psi, i prime it again 35 psi (normal). check for spark on both coils perfect. then i realize when i crank it and spray some starting fluid down the throttle body it starts up.. the fuel injectors are NOT pulsing! i went to the local auto salvage picked up a new EEC-V computer SAME PROBLEM (no change).. THEN i went back for an EEC power relay.. STILL no change. WTF is going on here?? i checked ALL fuses they are ok.. PLEASE help!!!

how many miles?

if 70-100k check the o2 sensors they might be sending the wrong signalfor your air fuel mixture.
most of the time it makes it too lean.
sparying starter fluid in the system make it more rich.

also check the pcv and the pcv tube for cracks and breaks
hope this helps

We had the same problem with our chevy van and found it to be the fuel pump in the fuel tank. Sprayed with starter fluid and it started and stopped once the fliud was used up about 4 seconds. I kicked under the fuel tank a couple times and the van started. We finally had to take it in and it WAS the fuel tank.....so, we got it repaired...THEN we got it home and not ONLY did the A/C go out on it, but, we had a head gasket crack on us...so, NOW it's replace the engine time! But, it has over 250,000 miles on it......so, I guess it was "time". We were lucky it didn't happen sooner, I guess..but, still an expense!

Hope this helps.
