1995 Stratus idle problems

2.4 liter dohc. The motor idles rough, misses, and rpm fluctuates at idle. Going down the highway, it does fine. It has new plugs and wires, so it couldn't be that. Any idea what it most probably be? I've heard people talking about "variable speed sensors" and "O2 sensors". These are pretty expensive aren't they??

my 95 stratus is doing the same thing. I bought it off my brother and he had the computer replaced and the fuel pump replaced. This helped but didn't solve the problem. Before he had this done the car would completely stall, now it just bumps around and shutters...only at idle.

possible a bad egr or a vacuum leak??

I'm having a similar problem with my 98 stratus. It misses at idle somestimes just every now and again...other times it's multiple times back to back. I did notice a snapping (almost sounds like sparkage) coming from the coil. I too had new plugs and wires. It might be a bad coil. Does that make sense?
