Eclipse good?

Are the eclipse 1994 to 1998 Good like are they good on everything they dont fuck up alot like other cars that you always have to take them to the shop?

First did you do a search for this or check out the threads at the top!

#1 its 95-99 2g.

#2 Every car is crappy if you treat it like shit and never properly maintain your car like having the oil changed in the proper intervals and evrything else that goes with proper maintenance.

So in other words if you dont know how to maintain a car then its gonna always be giving you problems because you didnt take care of them before they became problems, unless you routingly take it to a shop for checkups.

Machines that are used eventually break. Even if you take terrific care of your 95-99 Eclipse, parts are going to break and fail because it is an old car. If you are looking for something that you can drive every day and never have problems with, buy an 04 Honda Civic.

Eclipses are IMHO much more fun to drive than many cars, much better looking than many cars, and not especially more or less reliable than any other car.

A little example: my Talon has always been serviced at the dealership, oil changed regularly, and I have continued this tradition of good care since I bought it. However, it started overheating--I took it to the shop, and the radiator was almost 40% clogged. They found blades from the water pump in the radiator, and after cleaning the radiator, the problem is still not solved. This is simply the detereoration of parts resulting it what will be an expensive problem to get fixed--not the result of poor maintenance or neglect, and not something that doesn't happen in any other car!

2g is second generation not $2000.

hmm, I don't know what your talking about, Eclipses are dope, with or without modifications. It's not your gonna get a Skyline and race on the street like an idiot and get arrested. So Mistubishi Eclipses are in fact good cars

We go through this a lot, so I won't waste many words. No, they don't break down all the time, but yes they break down if they are heavily modified. You could get a lemon with ANY brand, so don't take any reliability claims too seriously. Eclipse owners still love their cars.

DSMs are fun cars but like everyone else says... shit will break... like any car

dude just buy a 96 honda civic with like 80,000 miles and drive it for another 300,000.... reliable... an you can put some APC and NOS stickers on it and make it faster... thas what you should do IMO

That last sentence was a joke, but I am looking for an AWD 2g DSM. I just sold my GS-T and I'm looking for a GSX. I tried dsmtuner.com, dsmtrader.com, etc. I'm just shopping around. Seeing what I can dig up.

Yeah, a nice decently priced GSX is pretty rare. I'm checking out a Talon that needs a rear differential, though. Hopefull that will be my next car. As of now, I'm carless. Me mum is driving me around. Oh well. It's my money, I'll wait until something nice pops up. I'm only 16, I have plenty of time.

I completely empathize with you... I think I may have reached my boiling point though. I don't think my cars run right in three months. I keep cussing at it hoping it will RETURN FROM ITS EMINENT DEATH. Naw... Its not that bad yet... just annoying.

i never see a gst or gsx in my news listings. i rarely see an eclipse. so good luck findin a gsx decently priced.

It's not hard to find a good one decently priced. Hell, I went to the classifieds on dsmtuners.com and found a sweet ass 2g gsx in my area for $5500. Btw, that gsx is now sitting in my driveway =)

yea i see sum in there but they are too far from me. or they are heavily priced. i live in the west coast.

try to find one in the texas area, their pretty cheap there! from what Iv seen from other type of cars.
