I think I could probably spend this weekend popping off the front grille ...getting some carbon fiber sheet and blue foam to fashion a new grill.

I could also cut out part of my bumper to make the two air dams at the bottom ..and put a mesh on.

I'll either use fibreglass or carbon fiber for that ..hehe my hobby shop is going to be happy to see me buying all their carbon fiber .and epoxy

nismoboy, i think thats all custom.. looks like some sort of race car for some touring cup circuit. i found that on a german site i believe...

Haha ..Boogie.

Yeah Things are dead slow at the office ..i'm spending all my time researching stuff for the car. I've been reading up on how to make fibreglass molds..so that I can make my own custom external kits.

I'll spend a day this weekend to see how I fair...if all goes good ...I can make photoshop wishes a reality.

Alright ..lets see what I can come up with ..
this should be a lot of fun.

just curious... did you find any mold info online? i've worked with fiberglass before and its not hard at all... but making a mold for a kit and how it's made step by step i've always been curious about...

Boogie ..

I work a lot with radio controlled gliders .cutting blue foam with hot wires ..This is going to take a lot more time ..and bigger cutters ...I can probably design the stencil on CAD and plot them here at the office. Then go home slap some blue foam together ..and build a mold. It would be good to make a mold out of wood ..then I can probably reuse it to make another for yas..hmmm but I'm going to make one first ..and see if its any good. Wish me luck

nice posts b-b00gie...again :)
btw, we still havent seen pics of your car!! hehe
anyway, your question about fiberglass molds...don't knwo if you guys heard of Aero Duo, but they make tons of knockoff kits...like veilside, combat kits for all these different cars. I know the previous owner pretty well and he told me a little bit about how to make your own fiberglass kits...(full bumper kits)
first, you need to get some sorta machinery that are able to make molds of the bumpers and side skirt...then, you have to sacrifice your own bumper (or buy a new one) and cut it in half where you keep the top half and design your own style on the bottom and then put it together and put the half-stock/half-custom bumper in the mold making machine. In case your're wondering about why you have to cut the stock bumper...you do so to insure fitment...the top half your stock bumper will line up with your car perfectly. the mold making machine will cost lots of money...i think he told me around $60,000??? anyway, after you have the mold, u can just lay fiberglass in it and, viola, a kit is born!!!

G-Forces
05-16-2001, 10:24 PM
Hey Luke thanks for volenteering! When can do you get the machine installed?

So everyone what kind of kit should Luke make for us first? I expect he'll keep the cost down to about $300US a front kit! :D :D :D

b-b00gie
05-16-2001, 11:23 PM
hmm... $60,000? ...where do you get one of these machines, or more info? i've been wanting to start a business and I know a few very good fiberglassers that work at car audio places.... we've actually talked about this idea before. They can make anything custom but making kits they were scratching there heads about how to do it time and cost effectively....

Jason...wait...uggghhh.....ahhh...oohhhh....OK, i just yanked out $60,000 out of my ass...now who wants which kit????? :D :D :D

b00gie, i know just the person to ask about getting the molding machine and more info on it....let me get back to you later on today...OK!!?!?!?!? :D
oh, i read your post about how if we get in a fender bender during a race....that's a very good question, so far, i have never seen anyone actually got in an accident....well, at least not collision type of accident....people blow their engine left and right though....hahhaha...a bit of exaggeration....:D
if i get my impul kit, no way in hell i am gonna race with that precious baby on hahaha...i'll probably put on my stock front bumper when i go.

btw. if you're going to get twin headlights make sure you get the ones from a non jdm or uk primera. the angle of the beams will be on the wrong side.

those p11's are f*ckin tight, well some of them...I really like those p12 headlights, the tails do look kinda funny though, i wonder what some of those kits are...i kinda like the front splitter on that silver one also...who makes that or something kinda like that, just curious...;)

You car lo0ks nice. You have no orange in your rear turn lights. Is that standard in NZ.

I am still trying to figure out how to mount my antenna on my roof like yours.

What size rims are those ?

There are some in there. They dont say they make them for Primera's but i have seen them here at our local Spoiler shop and they can almost fit any model.
They are just screwed onto the bumper the ones i saw.

poppy morenito> asking me??

well, the white (actually grey-ish) taillights are quite common here in sweden :p . mostly seen on the 2.0SE of '93-'96, and on the '97< (p11) the white taillights are to common...

the rims are 17", and as seen on the picture I really need some loweringsprings... :(

Nismoboy1
05-22-2001, 01:02 PM
boogie - actually, i was looking at the bronze colored primera with the bubbly lights, thats not a p12? i'm confused...

i was searching around for front splitter type stuff and ran into this site, they have stuff for primeras and universal ones too... :D

Plain? PLAIN?!!! I *love* them!!! They are actually covered with clear glass, and the coloured bits are like 1cm off to the inside (do you have any clue what I mean? :)) They look absolutely great when close. Hey, I think you should just order a taillight from your Nissan dealer just to take a look at it!:silly2:

the car in the pic is a P11-144 series. The P12 can be seen in the "report about the new primera" thread. They insist on calling it a facelift, but imo, it looks more different from the P11 than P11 did from P10!!! Just MHO, though

the "facelifted" p11 looks like nissan went of and shagged renault... but with 17" and a nice drop to the ground I most definetly would... :D :D

b-b00gie
05-22-2001, 01:37 PM
nismoboy.. yep thats a p11.. they are the Sept. 99+ P11's of europe...

cosmetically they have a different hood, lights, fenders, etc...

and they call it a facelifted p11.. cause well it IS a p11.. lets not forget "P11" = chassis name ...therefore changing cosmetics will not result in a new chassis name... the p12 however is an entirely new car.. new chassis.. new engine series.. new dimensions.. etc.. therefore "P12"

:D

and as for those tail lights.. yep i dont like them! ..if they werent smoked they might be nicer... i dunno.. i'm kind of fond of the red/clear combos...
