alright...quick background...

i play baseball, outfield/catcher. i have one of the best arms in the league, but it's been killing me for the past few weeks.

i've been taking 2 alieve right when i wake up and right before i go to sleep just to keep the pain in my right elbow down. i usually take 3 about an hour before each game (usually 1-3 times a week) so i don't keel over in pain whenever i throw the ball.

my question is...is this gonna fuck me up if i keep doing it for another month until the season is over? i'm definitely gonna go to the doctor after the season, but i definitely don't wanna watch the last month

You should probably ask a doctor. How's your stomach? I would imagine they must do a number on it...

stomach's been fine...as long as i take it with water like the bottle says nothing happens.

i'm just trying to avoid the doc for another month because if they find something wrong with the elbow i'm gonna be seriously pissed (baseball is pretty much the highlight of my summer so i really don't wanna sit there and watch my team play).

Have you tried Bayer? Asprin is supposed to help out with cancer or heart disease or something in the long run.

Alieve is probably one of the best over-the-counter pain meds you can take.
1 = Normal Dose
2 = Prescription Dose
3 = Death?
Yea, I don't know about taking 3 at a time. Seems a bit much.

i used to be into drugs, and i believe that i at one time took 6. i have done this with many painkillers. they do not want you to take more than the suggested dose becuase it can become addicting. and yes, you will get a buzz from taking more than the suggested dose. all they do is make you sleepy if you take too much.

Bah...if the body can handle 3-4 prescription Demerol (so I've heard :biggrin: ) or 3-4 Percoset at a time, Alieve should be fine. I suppose as long as it's not long term...
Hey, what about Cortisone shots? All the relief of Alieve with all the fun of a giant needle being rammed into your joint? :lol:

well between the 2 shots and 1 blood test the other day and the other blood test coming up next week, i've had enough needles jabbed into my arm...i'll stick with the alieve

alieve is pretty good. if your'e in that much pain, and don't want to see a doc, i'd say stick with that unless there is swelling. if there is swelling then I'd go with a motrin or an advil (ibuprofen) is helps a bit with the pain and it helps a lot with the swelling.

Even though your arm is really messed up, that does not mean that you should take more than the recommended amount. They tell you to take a certain amount for a reason, i mean, they can only help so much. I would think that if you started taking a lot all the time that it wouldn't be good for your body... but then again if you feel fine then i don't know. You should ask a doctor what could happen if you take too many.
