As a fan of Howard's show, I can see how he hates this President for wanting the FCC to Quiet him down. BUT, do you think he will swing enough Votes for Kerry?

No!
I am also a fan of Howard Stern but he knows no limits to what he does or say, no matter who the president is he will not be allowed to do as he pleases. His shock value doesn't just piss off the president but many many people.
Long live Howard!

He could go to cable or XM radio but hasn't. My guess is that his ratings are tanking and he just wants to go down swinging.

...like Stern's firing has anything to do with George Bush! Give me a break. Stern was fired because he lacks common sense. He violated FCC rules and got fired...plain and simple.

Dont mind if I do....but yes, what I MEANT to say is that Howard Stern got his fame for the crazy outrageous things he would do. like Tom Green, no one liked his acting skills, but put him in movies because they knew they can get him to do weird things, which people like

He's managed to hang on for some 25 or so years, I'd say that there's definately something more to what drives Howard Stern's ratings than pure shock value. And I've heard people say that they think he's gone down hill in content quality since the Private Parts days. I tend to disagree though. I mean, come on, "It's Just Wrong!" is absolute brilliance :iceslolan And whenever they get Gilbert on the show, between him and Artie, I'm in stitches the whole time!
The FCC is treading on a thin line between reasonable and out-of-control. They, and other dinosaurs like the RIAA will need to learn to adapt to a new, anything-goes media saturated society. The days of syrupy, "wholesome", reserved programming and ludicrously high priced tapes/disks as they stand today are grossly ill-suited for the 21st century. Not that they don't still have a very important place in society, it's just that the juggernauts with their hands at the wheel are going to have to rethink the way they manage these things before it's to late.
Let's face it, when these institutions were first formed, they weren't structured with things like MP3's, video games, "Shock Jocks," the current offerings of cable/satellite TV, and the mother of it all --the internet-- in mind. Sure, I'll readily admit that there is plenty of unnecessary crap out there that probably shouldn't be made available, but you've gotta learn to take the good with the bad, and adapt. I will now take a moment to echo those golden phrases that really tell the tale of how we feel about this stuff today: If you don't like it, just change the channel! If you're afraid videogames will corrupt the minds of your children, insure they know that it's just a game! If you don't want to view porn, watch beheading videos, and download music, don't use those resources! AND FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER, IT'S JUST A NIPPLE!!!! :lol2:

So when the FCC starts to do their job, (ie, fining people who break the laws that already exist), he gets pissed and blames the president.... yup, sounds like everyone else to me! I personally can't stand the guy and think it's ABOUT TIME that he got smacked in the face by the FCC.

Howard Stern was NOT fired. The company Clear Channel decided to remove Stern from 5 of the stations they own because they couldn't take the heat from the FCC. Howard Stern works for Viacom and is still on the air every day.
Thank God for Howard Stern. He's the only person on the radio that gives something original every day. Listening to any other DJ is like pulling teeth. When Howard eventually retires radio is dead to me. I value his opinion a lot, but not enough to swing my vote for president.

Right? I fear the day when my morning involves dealing with the top 20 chart toppers, when 18 of them are garbage, and the remaining two are overplayed to death anyways.

I like Howard Stern. I don't always agree with what he says/does, but I like(d) his show. I think he should really be thanking Janet Jackson for his departure more than anyone. If it weren't for her, he would more than likely still be on the air. Janet screwed things up for a lot of people.

Hey Texas I agree with you. As far as laws that Howard Broke, WHICH Laws? Tell us the LAWS!
The FCC gets an AVG. of 25 to 50 letters a month of people across America that doesn't like him. How many people are in America?
How come the FCC has different standards for Oprah and for Clear Channel DJ's or the Spanish Stations that curse very day on the radio?
Like I stated earlier, I listen to Howard, I am a fan. And I can see if my senator, Governor, President was tring to end my job, HEY, I'd be Pissed too! But, as I stated the first time, Can Howard Stern Swing Voter to Kerry? I will most likely not vote for Kerry but, THAT is my choice. You may fell different.

is howard trying to swing votes? or just bump his ratings a little bit.
it seems to be like everytime his show starts to do poorly, theres this hyped banning of his show from a few stations.

It would be great for me if Stern got kicked off the air and had to go on XM. He's not on the radio where I live and I have XM. I've been a fan for years but I don't always agree with his politics. In this case I don't and it doesn't matter who the president is the FCC will always be on his ass. Oh yah, F Jackie!!!!! :thefinger
