from time to time i keep hearing that if you bypass cats/mufflers and run practically straight flow through that you could see a decrease in power because you have too little backend pressure, so what's the truth

you will have less torque because u need a certain amount of back pressure for torque. But you will have a gain in high end horses simply at high rpms and high engine strain, it is best to get rid of exhaust pressure as fast as possible

but thats describing and explain briefly

With a cutout I went from 14's to 13.8s and that was just bypassing the mufflers.

it really depends if your car is f/i or not...with f/i all you want to do is get rid of the gas no matter the back pressure but with an n/a motor you would most likely lose torque.

yeah, exactly, the forced induction factor comes into play. Roots blowers create mounts of low end torque no matter what. If you are running one a cutout is a good idea.

Well reading you all means that FI or NA I will deflate but since FI pushes more air thru the same volume I would get mor benefits than harm depending on the air in/air out ratio?
