Sup guys? Just a couple quick questions.
1.) Why are they illegal in the U.S.?
2.) How much does one cost? If it was either used, or new.
3.) How much if imported one?
4.) Are they gonna be legalized anytime in the near future?

Sup guys? Just a couple quick questions.
1.) Why are they illegal in the U.S?
Nissan never produced them for US consumption, and no one has ever done what is necessary to legallize them. There is no US equivalent.
2.) How much does one cost? If it was either used, or new. You'll never get a new one. They don't make them anymore. Used? I know one that is available for $5000.00. I have seen them for $12000.00. Quite a wide range there...
3.) How much if imported one? not too much...under a grand I would guess....through the right channels.
4.) Are they gonna be legalized anytime in the near future?Nope it aint happening. It would just cost way more than the car is worth.

If you are in Japan you can drive it to a shipping company and do it yourself.

If you are in Japan you can drive it to a shipping company and do it yourself.
I think if you tried it this way without the proper paperwork - you'd end up having to decide whether to ship the car back to Japan from the US or to send it to the wreckers -> because that's what will happen if you send the car to Australia.
I don't think you could find an S15 at auction or brand new for $12,000 !!! Maybe an '89 GTR perhaps...
Spidey, I'm guessing that if you're based in the US, Motorex is the only company who can help you out - don't know if the S15 is doable though. Best to contact them and find out.

I am currently considering a 1999 Spec S that is beautiful and very well maintained @ $5000.00. They're out there.

Not necessarily, but then paperwork is not out of the question....and I don't plan on sending any to Australia.

The S15 isn't doable by even Motorex.
