what is Max-Wedge?

what makes a max-wedge engine a max-wedge engine? is it possible to "max-wedge" a normal 440 engine? what kind of increases in performance would you see?

also, im building a ram air for my 440 warlock...similar to the ram airs on the lil reds with the police interceptor engine...with 2 4.5" pipes coming from the k&n filter ( with a fiberglass shroud around it). The thing is the pipes will just be sitting near the ground, but behind the front bumber(air wont really be "ramming" into it)..will it actually get air from the ground? will it make a difference?

If it made a difference I bet it would be worse. You're just making the path longer with no real force in front of it. There will be a lot of dead air sitting inside of those pipes, I'll bet.

I read the story on those wedge engines, but I don't recall anything special about it. They had these "wedge" cylinder heads?; or something but I can't remember any details. I'll keep a look out for this though, I'm sure I'll find something for you.

Why not get hemi heads for a 440? Just as cheap. that and eight pistons and a cam, and you've got something.

i already have a performance cam on the truck.

i might post some pics. and for the intake.....looks really good...wouldnt the shroud keep the heat from getting in? i have gotta find some way to get the air in.......
