My eagle talon Esi is lagging when i step on the gas but I've allready checked the coolant, fans, thermostat, etc. They are all working fine but I noticed that thew cold air intake isn't really cold it gets warm after the car has been running for a while. Someone told me that I had the intake attached wrong but i cant figure out how to correctly install it. I was wondering if their is an extra piece that connects the intake tube to the old intake tube on the car where the old filter was??
Someone please help. I've been trying to figure it all out for a while and running out of causes of the lag. :banghead: Thanx

if you bought an aftermarket intake, the stock intake won't have any parts remaining in the engine bay and you won't hook anything up to it. It should consist of some tubes and couplers and an air filter. all of which get assembled into a pretty little tube. you attatch the one end to the throttle body, and the other end gets the filter. it's a pretty straight foreward job. as long as the intake was actually made for your car, it should fit in no problem. Since the person knew it was on "wrong" perhaps they could show you how to do it correctly. I doubt you have it on wrong. it's too simple to mess up.
as far as the lag, give a better description of the problem in some detail and I"m sure we'll be able to diagnose it.

Wait my mistake, you said it was an esi... the lag is probably comming from a boost leak. check your intercooler piping and bov and the connection on your intake to your turbo. it might not be seated properly. You can do a boost leak test. directions can be found on www.vfaq.com

What about an air box to seperate the engine air from the colder air?? Would that work?
