I, as well as everyone else around here are sick and tired of all of these worthless internet geeks that have nothing better to do than join our community and start talking about discusting topics and flamming out the ass. Then they get banned and rejoin and rejoin and rejoin. All you fuck nuts need to grow up and get a life!

By the way, is there anyway we can deal with them like ban their ip from logging on to the site? We should all work together to figure out a way to reduce the amount of trash that join the forums.

Ip banning this fuck that we all know about was discussed but I think that Igor is the only one that has the ability to do that

the only other way to go around this is to have a joining process; you propose a username, name, and and some other info, then you have to wait for approval from a mod (who could also check IP address)

or email verification again...

I like the IP thing, one ID per IP, and if someone gets banned, the IP gets banned, so they cant get back on. Or maybe a combination IP and Email Verification, if one or both matches one in a database of banned users, then they are not accepted.

Sorry,but people are joining AF at a rate of 300+ every day.That's a hell of a lot of extra work for volunteer moderators to deal with [we do actually like some time to make posts of our own,eh?].

99% of them are genuine automotive enthusiasts,the 2 or 3 idiots that make it in every day are quickly found and removed.Igor has deciced not to use IP banning because we have such a large number of enthusiasts posting from shared locations[i.e. college computers,etc]it would be unfair to genuine users if they couldn't log on to AF because some idiot used that particular IP to start a flame war in 2001....

I'm still left wondering how some of these people make it through boot camp without being classified as Section 8's.

My hubby does this for a living in the military...The best part of that whole thing... These people are going to have SERIOUS repercussions for this! It's not just a slap on the wrist, it goes on their military service record and can affect their pay and promotions!! :) And the thing is... They KNOW THIS beforehand! They go through breifing after briefing after briefing and are reminded often!
How these people survived to adulthood still aludes me!

IP banning is the only way i can think of it. Keeps us from wasting our time arguing with some dumb kids. They seem to think its a game when they get banned and then come back. Or they think its just soooo funny. Kids these days. :disappoin
