umm... yea that picture has been on the corksport website for a long time... and its been discussed before... and thats a concept picture, not even a concept car, so I bet it looks 100% different, especially those gay wheels

looks good and bad, but i thought since they came out with the rx8 they wouldn't come out with the rx7 again

personally I think they rx-8 is gonna be more of a sporty sedan and the rx-7 will be a pure sports car... but thats just my guess, I guess we'll find out in about a year or two

There will be no more RX-7. They have the RX-8 to fill the niche rotary market. It'd be the same as if people asked for mazda to re-release the RX-5 after the RX-7 first came out. No point really. And i doubt a 300hp renesis will last terribly long, not to mention have NO torque at all. As it stands, the 247hp version makes only 159 pound feet of torque... a 300 hp version would have to rev really high and sacrifice even more torque to get those numbers. The only answer is forced induction.

I don't think the rx-8's are as much of a sports car as the 7's so either they will become more sports car like or the 7's will come back to fill the role

There's been so many rumors about a new RX-7. The last thing I read said that they did have plans to mak a new RX 7 but now that project has bee killed. Hopefully the Tokyo auto show in November will have some answers.

Design is Design, weither it's on paper or on pavement. I figured it had been up for a while.. I figured the RX-7 possibility would have been discussed but I didn't want to bother with the hrs of surffing the forum pages... (I got dial-up). I know there are some who think the RX-7 doesn't need to come back the RX-8 is it's replacement... to me the RX-8 is like a 2+2 RX-7, kinda like the FC had back in the late 80's early 90's. also with the Skyline going to be in the States there needs to be a Rotary Revival, bring back the performance!!! the RX-7 is just a name.. and something people relate the car to.. even if they named it somethin else (RX-8 type R) I wouldn't care. but a 7 setup 8 would be needed. with the competion ever encreasing in the jap market... lets look at it you have the S2000, WRX Sti, EVO 8, NSX, 350Z, soon the Skyline R35. All these cars either have 2 seats or 270hp+ to make up the weight diffrence along with AWD (EVO and WRX). the Mazda flagship has always been about balance. the only other company who needs a Flagship FR or 4WD is Toyota, the only 2 they had were the Supra and the GT4... but the RX-8 needs a more Sports car true designed counterpart. like the Corvette... it was the fastest american sports car, but it lost it's bite... that's how the Vette lost it's title of "The American Sportscar" to the Viper. this is also why the ZO6 was made.. to give the performance back to the Vette which it lost. the RX series needs that as well

yea it needs to be like 2800lbs at the most and atleast 270hp with 50/50 weight ratio and a two seater.... non-turbo would be cool if they could make it powerful enough and make it have plenty of potential... if not it would need to be turbo or even have a non-turbo and turbo model like the FC's did... but I kinda think the RX-8 will be a non-turbo model type and if they make a new rx-7 it'll be the turbo sports car

right.... The FC is the perfect Example of what they need to do with the RX-8, have the 3 models.. the current 2+2 NA, have a 2 seater option, also a 2+2, and 2 seater Turbo, version (Type S) and a 2 seater twin Turbo model (Type R)

I just say rx-8 non-turbo renesis and rx-7 turbo renesis... 250hp to the rx-8(I think thats about what it has now right?) then 300 for the 7, 4-door rx-8 like it is now with the 2+2 and then a 2 seater rx-7.... just the 2 models... don't need more than that... just have a standard package and an optional package for each

To me that looks kinda like the new concept of the eclipse... a new 7 would cost how much? What would that do to the price of the current 7s? I would LOVE to see these but i personally don't think mazda will do it.

As long as Mazda makes a turbo renesis I'll be happy.
