Dart Blocks and T sleeves for boosting

Ok I found this website that sells dart blocks and its a b18c something the thing only weighs 67 pounds(I guess thats good for a block) and basically I wanted to build the whole motor from ground up and get a dart head,900 hp connecting rods,forged pistons,and T Sleeves and basically have a beast of a motor.Im just wondering if anyone thinks that would be a good setup or if theyve heard any negative things about these engine parts?

As far as I've heard, Dart makes awesome products. The only thing negative I've heard is the pricing.

There ar several companies that sell Sleeved B18c blocks, most are origional blocks though. Dart manafacturers their own blocks...if you got the dough go for it.

yep, did a customers car at work. Prelude with a supercharger and just got the block back from Darton. I will see if i can get some pics of it.

yeah i read about the b18 dart blocks and they are closed decks. people have been sayin that its bad because something about heat and motor wont last as long. BUT I did read that the dart blocks have a larger water jacket or somethin for cooling. I don't really know, im a noob so hey.....thats all i gotta say

DART manufactures blocks, complete pieces. DARTON puts new sleeves in your stock block. A sleeved stock block will be about a thousand cheaper than a dart block, and sleeved blocks have been proven to handle 800+ horsepower, there's no need to go dart.

Yup. That would be correct. But I would just get the GSR block. Alot cheaper, and if you are going to just replace the rods and pistons, there goes eveything that makes the type R block better!

Depends on how much horsepower you want. If you buy a dart block you need to have a B18C block on hand anyways, there are lots of little screws and caps and fittings that dart does not include with the blocks, and it would be impossible to buy them all seperately.

now i have heard they are the shit but if u want a good platform and u got about 10k layin around IMO go with a recon b18c it is balanced and blueprinted and comes with 275 hp and somewhere around 250 to the wheels. it is very nice but then again in a newb and if i had 10k id have a ls/vtec boostid about 25psi and my car would almost be done. but it all depends on what u want and how u want it.

ohh and BTW 100k miles or 2 years they say if u even lose 1 hp thell replace it.

10K is not going to give you an LS/VTEC pushin 25 psi....well for no more than about 2 seconds. Once you start to build up your engine, the costs will prob exceed what you origionally planned to spend.
