About 2 weeks ago my car was smushed :banghead: , since then I have picked up a GT of the same year, almost in the same horrible condition of my car before the Tree. I took the already replaced fenders, bumper and hood off of my car, and put it onto the new car. MY question is how do i fix/replace the rear of the new car? It is rusted pretty bad, i know i will need a new hatch, but what about the quater panels? How do i go about obtaining the new panel(s), and how do i go about sticking it on my car?

get the panels from a website, such as www.50resto.com or maybe www.stangparts.com. then go to a body shop and let them hack off an arm and a leg, and boom you have new quarterpanels on your car =)

qpanels need to be cut from the car, filler blocks need to be made for the new one, and holes for spotwelds need to be drilled. then corrosion protection. so it's not all that simple, but any competent bodyman can do it in a day.

no prob... i'm lucky enough to have bought a car with rust-free qpanels, but they do have rather large dents in them... which isn't really a big deal, i can fix that with a buddy's help. my big beef with my car is the core support, which some hack managed to screw up and it's twisted from some front impact it took a couple years back. fun fun =\

go around the entire perimeter of the qt panel....there are little dots showing through the paint...theyre spot welds and that is how the qt panel is held on they must be drilled out in order to get it off...pretty big project if you dont know what youre doin sorry man
