get a bad first car?

Hey,

a lot of people are telling me / are telling people i know that its a bad idea to get a nice car for your first car. I mean i know obviously that you're not gonna be a very good driver with your first car, and you might bang it around a little, but is there any other reason you might wanna get a piece of crap civic or something for a first car? besides $$?

well first off civics arent crap at all. cheap insurance, gas mileage is a plus, you can find almost anything to do to it. but do what you want not what everyone else wants you to do. if you want a good first car than get one

aite man ill give u that i actually like the civics, but the point is my parents wont pay insurance for me unless i get like a 1990 civic w/ auto.

i mean i can probly talk them down, but do any older drivers kno a legit reason why they'd be saying this?

BECAUSE THEY ARE PAYING INSURANCE. your lucky you arent paying insurance. its cheap to cover a late model civic. this could be why
