the LS's redline is 6,800 while the GSR's is 8,200. the redline is different because of higher compression motor, vtec, and a bunch of other little things.

the Ls also has a lower rod ratio which is like 1.54 which means at high rpms the ls would start side loading

what if u get the block balanced and blueprinted? and then get the bottom maincaps from a gsr. would that help to keep the block together?

what do you mean by side loading? i was a damn idiot and bought this racing chip(so to say) off ebay and installed it. it gave me some noticable gains and set my rev limiter to 9,200 rpm's. yeah, that high. i was the dumbass that i was and would take it to 8k or sometimes 8,500 rpm's. yeah real stupid of me. well, i spun a bearing in that engine and that is why i know have to b20. i did take out the racing chip. but can reving the engine that high cause that to happen?

side loading is when you dont have a good rod ratio like the ls (1.54) at high rpms the piston dont come down in the center they come down off to one side

so how can you prevent side loading - do you have get new rods, pistons and cranks - how much power could you get if you changed those two things - and maybe the camshafts too?

to prevent side loading you need to make sure you have the proper rod/stroke ratio, which is done by proper piston/rod/ and crank selection. and as for how much power...that all depends on which parts you go with for where you want your power band to be.
