problem when turning

when i come out of a parking spot it ususally takes a minute for the car to get gas or when i make a turn but afte i drive it for awhile i dont have any problems. does anyone know what the problem is. if you do let me know.

from everything i have read, it appears to be a problem with the steering rack. problem is only when turning left. GM issued a recall for cars 97 and older for this problem. I have contacted GM and they have offered to share the cost with me. it is about a $1300 repair.

How did you go about contacting GM? I'm interested in having them share the cost for replacing my steering rack as well.

I know there is a sticker on my rear window that has a number, 1-800-442-OLDS...but that's for roadside assistance, so I'm not sure if they can transfer your call or not.
