hi to all of u!
i have an E34 525i and its a great car
exept from problems i listed before, it runs quite well
i am just asking if a suercharger can be installed on the car?
just to improve acceleration!
will it be harmful to the engine?( i want to keep other things stock )
will it increase efficiency?

P.S: i've read about that turbonator, is it a gud thing?
thanks

Hi Amrish:

I really do not know a lot about superchargers Vs BMW 525i, and would be afraid to give an opinion. :banghead:

You might want to check with Bavarian Autosport at: www.bavauto.com (http://www.bavauto.com/) and take a look at their "Autowerke Supercharger", and call and ask them for advice about the Supercharger, which is on Pg 7 in their 04 Spring & Summer catalog). :iceslolan

PS-The turbinator or any other electric fan that's supposed to blow air into the intake is a hokey piece of crap.
And welcome!

thats true, those electrical fans are just some kinda gadget
they dont work

someone who wants to get more power from his bmw can either sell his car, get a more powerful one
eg moving from a 2.5l engine to 4.0
or sending the car to a tuning company, put a supercharger or a turbo

By the way, here is the question again, which is better, supercharged or turbos?

many people said turbos, because it uses waste exhaust gas

can someone put a turbo in his car, if he is not a specialised mechanic?

any suggestions about how the work is done?

I personally believe that a super charger is easyer to put on then a turbo. If you get a super charger that doesnt need an oil line ran to it and everything is self contained then yea its much easyer. All you need is the super charger, some brackets and a pully with a new belt. Ofcoruse theres some other things Im forgetting but all you do is remove the intake and replace it with the SC. I know of a place that makes SC's for E39 540's. Unless you find a kit for your engine model you can most likely plan on spending more then what your cars worth on fabrication and installiation.

no supercharger for E34 525i?
superchargers use the engine power
turbos use the waste energy

so, u get less power at the end

but superchargers need not to spool up!

There is a guy on www.bimmer.info supercharging a 525i, his name is Jon K. IIRC. You should probably check out his write-ups so far and PM him if you have any questions.
