I was wondering what would be the best sized tires for 17in. rims(8J rear and 7J front). Right now I have 215/40/17 on the front, they stretch pretty goodin the front. In the rear I have 235/40/17, I was thinking about going with 215/40/17's all around. How would 205/40/17 look up front with 215/40/17 in the rear? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. :smokin:

What generation MR2 do you have?

I am assuming the 2nd gen. If so, you do NOT want the same size tire all the way around unless you enjoy an unstable vehicle.

I would suggest exactly what you have 215s front and 235s rear.
Why would you want to go smaller?

I want go smaller to stretch the tire to give more surface area and to improve grip and response.

A thinner tire gives you less surface area ... even when stretched.

If you want improved grip an responsiveness, get a good set of 15" rims and appropriate tires ;)
