Santa Fe Maintenance (Fuel Filter)

I have a 2003 Santa Fe LX with the 2.7 liter V6. I'm a little concerned about the maintenace schedule. I'm a do it yourself kind of person, i try to do as much as I can by myself. My Grandfather owned a GM dealership for 40 years so I grew up around cars. I made the mistake of not keeping receipts for the oil changes I did myself. It now has 26,000 miles on it, I logged in the maintenace book that I changed the oil every 3,750 miles, but the only receipt I kept was the last one. Does anyone know how strict the warranty is on keeping receipts. I will keep them from now on . I plan to do the 30,000 mile maintenance myself, I have some anti-freeze at the house from a previous vehicle that I changed so I want have that receipt either!!! Another thing is can someone tell me if changing the fuel filter is necessary. I have never changed one on any vehicle I have ever had. My father who has owned 25 to 30 vehicles said he never has except on one, and it was a 1967 Buick Riveria. Any advice.

Welcome to the forum,
Throughout the four santa fe forums I moderate in, I haven't heard of any owner have their warranty rejected by Hyundai due to them not having their own oil change reciepts. So, I haven't heard of any. If you start now and continue keeping the reciepts on any maintenance you do it would help in the event you do need to take it in to the dealership for servicing and they question if you did do the work.
As for the fuel filter, I believe fellow member lowsonoma1999 can answer that question. He's our resident Hyundai Parts Manager in the forum and is very well knowledgable in the vehicles. He knows his stuff and he'll be able to answer your question properly.
Again welcome to the forum.
