Whats up. Just got a used DC 4-1 Stainless header. It seems pretty nice, but wasn't what I expected. I know it's at least a year old, so my question is... Are there different versions of DC headers? Like, did they come out with a better one a year later or something?

The header is on my 2000 Si. Thanks.

What wasn't like you expected? The gunmetal color? shape? As far as I know, they don't have v1.0 and 2.0.

Wasn't what I expected -performance- wise... sorry I didn't make that very clear. Now that I am driving it though, im noticing the power more. I bought it used. It was pulled off an Si w/a vtec controller where the guy was running really rich, so it had a LOT of carbon build-up in the header... now that I'm running it hard, I think its blowing some of the build-up out er something. Who knows, but its running better.

Do you also have intake and exhaust??
4-1 gives you more high end power were as slight low-end/midrange torque may be lost ...

Yeah I have AEM CAI and Tenzo-R Axle-Back. I wanna get my car dyno'd now. Don't Si's push 142@wheels stock? something along that figure. I'm hoping to be spitting out about 155@wheels. 8hp for CAI, 2 for axle-back, 3 for header... hopefully.

It looks like that the 4-2-1 header makes more horsepower than the 4-1 header. I thought 4-1 was supposed to make more power?

see that bump at midrange.. that is what it is all about. 15 more hp and 15 more lbft to the wheels at VTEC engagement. And if you ever get to drive, or you liscence for that matter :), you would know that B16s at least have shitty power in the midrange. I'd welcome that 15 midrange power than a boost of 3 hp over stock at 7500rpm.

not to mention the 4-1 moves your peak torque up from 7000 to 5600rpm.
