Chevrolet Lumina S

My chevy lumina S 2004 model has a jerk every time i shift the gear inot D or R. Took it back to the showroom within a week of buying the car and they told me its normal. Is it?

Depends on how bad it jerks. I wouldn't trust the showroom people. Get a second opinion. But then again, it is a brand new 2004! It better not have any problems. But if it does, don't forget the warranties.

Well it does not really cuase any problems, but there definately is a jerk. it is as if u can feel the car settling into gear. it is more pronounced when put into R. i did create a noise at the showroom and even checked around 3-4 cars parked as display pieces (incl one in godown) to my surprise all of them did have the same jerk. Funny thing is they said that for 2003 models it could be reduced but for 2004 models it is normal. could it be a manufacturing defect in all lumina 2004 models?
