lowering insurance

I was wondering if anyone knows tricks for lowing your auto insurance (aside from waiting for years). I am a good drive, I had one speeding ticket in the last 4 years. But, last summer, on the final leg of a road trip down some UNlit road in middleofnowhere Indiana, I smacked into a big deer with my Blazer and had to file a $6k+ claim. Since then, insurance is far from affordable. Just to give you an idea, with every insurance company that will even give me a quote, it costs $2k/year to insure a used SATURN. That's for liabilty only and a $1k deductable. Should I lie and say I'm a woman?

You mean you aren't?

:p

Seriously. Insurance companies are crooks! I guess you could get married, I know that effects insurance costs here in Ontario. Otherwise get a motorbike or just bite the bullet.

When I lived in Milwaukee, the least expensive insurance was American Family. Keep trying insurance companies until you find a good deal. Lying won't help because they will probably cancel your insurance if you have an accident and they found out.... Find a good agent and don't be afraid to ask how you can lower your rates.

Also, try www.progressive.com because they will do a comparison for you.

I think its time for you to keep shopping. Try Gyco and AIG, they usually pretty good with their rates.
